Responsibilities:
As a senior web developer at Oculus, you'll architect and lead the development of the web services supporting our virtual reality platform. We're looking for an engineer who loves building consumer-facing web experiences. We'll look to you to convert our designs and ideas to pixel-perfect, interactive web content. As a lead, you'll be expected to build high performance Javascript services and APIs which easily serve thousands of users, easily scale, and support all sorts of UX and A/B testing. The ideal candidate would have experience designing, developing, releasing, and maintaining a consumer web service or application.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years professional work experience developing scalable, live web sites and services
- Expert level knowledge of Javascript
- Strong understanding of databases and database design
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design
- Experience developing and maintaining a consumer web service or application.
- Experience with Node.js a plus
- Experience with Ruby and PHP a plus
- Good eye for design and usability
- Excellent communication skills
