Senior Industrial Designer

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Industrial Designer at Oculus, you’ll lead design projects for consumer virtual reality products from end to end. You’ll be a resident expert in consumer product design, aesthetics, surfacing, ergonomics, and usability for all Oculus hardware. We're looking for someone that can help bring new ideas to life through top-notch visualization and design skills. You will champion user experience throughout the development process and collaborate with all our product teams to deliver innovative, game-changing VR products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, manufacturing, and shipping consumer products.

    Immediate activities:

  • Design, develop, and ship the world’s best virtual reality platform.
  • Help define new products and introduce compelling design ideas at Oculus.
  • Lead design projects with internal and external resources.
  • Develop functional, beautiful products visually consistent with the attributes of our brand.
  • Contribute creative and elegant ways to address ergonomic and mechanical challenges.
  • Coordinate with every aspect of our business to develop ideas and bring them to market.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.
  • 5+ years experience developing and launching consumer hardware products, ideally in the tech/games space.
  • 2+ years experience leading design projects and directing development efforts.
  • Ability to juggle multiple concurrent design projects effectively.
  • Excellent sketching and form language development skills.
  • Strong 2D & 3D software skills (Solidworks a plus).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Collaborative, positive, team-oriented mindset.
